I’m a HUGE fan of horror…  The thing is that I’m a big pussy! I KNOW for a fact that I will be scared for a month after that but I just cant stop watching these type of movies because I LOVE them too much… I think I’m stuck in a catch 22 and I’m a big maso with my mind…LOL! The first horror movie series that I watched over and over again are the Nightmare on Elm street… I LOVE Freddy Kruger! For his style and humor and the idea of him coming back in dreams… I think it’s just cool!
I had a lot of imagination back then and he does scared me a little bit… Now I watch them and I laugh more than anything but I still think they are greats movies
So if I give you my TOP 5 of what I think are the best horror movies (in my repertoire obviously)

1 - The Human Centipede
because it’s the more FUCKED UP movie I’ve seen in a LONG time and it’s not even gore…Â I cant wait for the next one even if I’m not sure if I will be able to look at it…

2 - Nightmare on Elm Street Series
Because as I said, I like the humor and style that Freddy have.. and it might be also because it’s one of the first series I’ve seen…Â …Freddy Rock and Johnny Depp was so funny in the first one… lol!!

3 - Evil Dead Series
It started like something that was going to be scarier but it’s much more humoristic than anything else. It’s a classic, and I can watch them over and over again.. My favorite one of the series is The Army of Darkness (to funny)

4 – The first Exorcise
BIG CLASSIC that have terrorized my mom a long time ago when she was younger… Obviously crazy like I am, the second she told me that I absolutely wanted to check it out! As I said, I think I’m a big maso on myself with that… I LOVE to be scared! … I don’t talk about it that much because I don’t think it’s always the time and place to talk about these things but I’m a very spiritual person and I do believe in all these “things”.. that’s probably what make this movie so scary for me

5 - IT (from Stephen King)
…I’m still feeling a little weirdness inside my body when I see a clown now…

EXORCIST > ALL!
i think i love all of the zombie movies
IT reminds me my childhood o.o
Terror is a natural part of the human experience. Because we’ve removed most terrifying things from our everyday life, we make horror movies to safely stimulate the emotion.
Although not a fun, I never had any problem to see such films. I have seen all the above mentioned by you Ariel, except the last one…
But I will add to your list the “Psycho” series he he….
Is that possible you haven’t seen even one?
Ohhhh yeah… that’s a great movie!
reason being I’m too a fan of horror movies (and I will be until I die)(think a good part of my addiction to horror comes from the fact that the first horror movie I watched ever, I did at age 3) I will give you my top 5 :
1) return of the living deads
2) night of the creeps
3) dracula (Vela Luggosi) -a total classic of all times-(1946)
4) freddy vs. jason
5) hellraiser -series- (8 parts)
you know, I looked back your list and couldn’t help when lookin’ the cover for the exorcist to start laughing, you know I recommend you if you haven’t yet to watch the series named ‘scary movie’ and each time you ever watch the exorcist again you’ll too can’t stop laughing. BELIEVE ME
the freddy refered on the #4 is krugger amnd jason is vorhees from friday 13th (a good series, very long but liked it.
Oh yeah I know the scary movie series
they are pretty funny
the exorcist
Great list Ariel although I haven’t seen the first one…. I will have to check it out.. The nightmare on elm street series is totally what turned me on to horror… and The Evil Dead movies are pure genius.. I especial love the part in the first one when the girl is running through the forest being chased by the vine….. Have you seen a movie called “Pathology” , I bet you would dig it. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0964539/
Nop never heard of it, but I will for sure check it out!
mmmm
This top is good but…
Nightmare on elm street saga ” I hate Freddy Kruger, thanks to him and the crazy idea of my father of renting this whole saga when I was less than two years old and I evelope all my fears”
“Army of darkness or Evil Dead” . Do you affraid watching this? I´ve just saw one of them, I saw the one of the cover you´ve posted here, yeah exactly that and I thought that´s good as hell, specially for their language hahahahha
“Stephen King´s IT” Aaauch that´s not cool at all, I´ve got frightened just see it, no one would love to be dragged to the sewers hahahaha but is a good way to go out of your mind.
“The Exorcist” mmm is good too that´s all I can say about this film
The Human Centipede.. I haven´t seen it x.x I feel so embarrased.
But this top reminds me of the classic horror movies, when it was worth to go to the cinema, that´s what I think and even also I like to suggest you one movie…
Have you seen the Amityville Horror?(1979)and(2005) I saw the one what was filmed in 1979 and it´s a good ol´ one, to be classic it effects were well done. So you should see it,I think
LOL! When I watch the Army of Darkness I laugh the whole time but even if it’s funny I still put it in the horror category
… and yes I saw the Amityville series it’s also a classic
This is my BOOM STICK!!!
Why does it give me a semi to read you type the word “pussy”?
Hmmm… maybe I’ll log into your site and refresh myself.
ahahaha it was a subliminal message just for you Dickie

I had some problem to look at it….
As tu vu Braindead de Peter Jackson
Non ça me dit rien
Mais je vais aller faire une recherche c’est certain
Je crois que c’est le film avec le plus de sang et de chaire dechicter
tres gore
HI!! Ariel I agree with the top 5 horror movie list, but what happen to HALLOWEEN movies and Friday the 13th movies.Their were great to.Oh yeah I live on Elm St. in my home town of Vacaville,Ca.I guess you can call me the original Freddy In Vacaville.
lol
It,s true that the two other series you named were amazing…. I had a hard time making this top 5… I think I should have done a top10
Massacre à la tronçonneuse (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre)
Cannibal Holocaust
Rec
when i was young.. i was afraid of those horror movies where theres an evil clown in it… like IT and stuff like tht…. im still scared of clowns though… heee
Omg, Halloween and Event Horizon (even that’s sorta sci-fi) are awesome, how could you leave them out?
.
If you’re into horror games, try Exmortis, it’s free online. Also Doom 3 is the best game ever!!!!! But sadly, it’s not free
Totally agree on Nightmare On Elm Street though, great film
I liked the Resident evil series of games
I’m a little ashamed to admit this but i’ve never played those.
In a semi-related note, watch Event Horizon, it’s like Hellraiser in space, awesome film
il y a aussi
House of 1000 Corpses (2003) et la suite The Devil’s Rejects (2005) de Rob Zombie et avec la sexy Sheri Moon Zombie
OUI! C’est vrai! The House of the 1000 corpes est trop bon!
Love all those, but my absolute fav horrors are the Alien Series, especially the first two, Alien and Aliens, and also John Carpenters The Thing, just brilliant.
My top five would look someting like this:
1. Alien
2. Psycho
3. Suspiria
4. The Evil Dead
5. The Beyond
and some favourites from the last ten years:
Let The Right One In
A Tale of Two Sisters
[Rec]
Martyrs
Ils
El Orfanato
Pan´s Labyrinth
The Abandoned
Frontiére(s)
Three Extremes
Good list!! I never see The Beyond… I’m going to search for it
hmm in my opinion i loved
Cannibal Holocaust
Evil Dead
Paranormal activity
The Thing
Exorcist (original first one only :\)
Toxic Avenger (only cuz it was more cheesy funny)
Shaun of the dead (though not really horror :\)
Night of the living dead
Eyes without a face (recommend this one)
Nosferatu
The shining
30 days of night
Hell Raiser
The serpent and the rainbow
Dead alive
May
yeah i like horror films
That’s a VERY good list!
Did you know that in The serpent and the Rainbow everything about Clairvius Narcisse is real? He was a Haitian guy who was declared dead by two doctors and buried in 1962. They found him wandering around the village 18 years later. It turned out the local voodoo priests had been using naturally occurring chemicals to basically zombify people and putting them to work on the sugar plantations.
The more you learn
Nop didn’t know… lol
Tks for the info
so next time your putting sugar into your coffee know that its been handled by zombies haha
Have you seen the Stephen King Mini series Kingdom Hospital. It’s not a really nasty horror, just really weired, worth watching if you get a chance.
Another is the Ginger Snaps trilogy. Made in Canada, it’s about two death obsessed teenage sisters and werewolves.
Not never…
But I’m searching for it for sure
Tks for letting me know
did not like the third one
can’t belive nobody said anything about one of my favorite scary movies…28 Days Later. so many great OMFG moments
If you are easily scared at movies like this, Ariel im sure you will want to watch in the middle of the day. haha
