We never forget our first loves…

I know I’ve been talking a lot about KPOP recently as my new favorite music style but today, I’m back to my original roots and I’m on a ROCKING mood.  I’ve been listening to old groups that I used to BLAST in my bedroom back when I was only a rebelish teenager…  I remember my moms freaking out every nights because my music was too loud and I remember her telling me how much she hate rock and metal music… LOL (like any other moms or almost)

I tried to open my horizon at one point and I started listening to other types of music that I also loved and still love today BUT rock/alternative/grunge always have been my first love and I don’t think I can never be any other thing expect a rocker chick deep inside me…  I’m thinking about groups like: Korn, System of a Down, Seether, Theory of a dead man, NickelBack, Three Days Grace, Nirvana, Papa Roach, Foo Fighters, Billy Talent and more that I still love today and that I can never stop listening to if I want to stay sane :)  Call me cheesy but I can listen all their songs in repeat till all the lyrics are stuck in my head… for hours, and hours and hours…

…it also make me so nostalgic to listen to these songs…

continue reading to listen more of my selection of the day… hope you like :)

…now the easiest song to play at the guitar but so dam effective…

… make me feel nostalgic all the time… Spoil me with Music….

Well then, I knew a certain number of them but not everyone! It’s nice on your part to share your feelings here, thank you Ariel ^^
I’m going to listen to some of them I think, héhé…
By the way, what are you nostalgic of when you listen to them? As regards me, it recals me my high school days…

  2. Aurelien says:

Oh and well, I don’t think that’s weird to be addicted to some songs, sometimes they recall you emotions you had forgotten, or bring new ones…

For me is almost the same, but the mercury in my veins are for all kind of metal groups older than those you mention, but all of them too. I used to had the same problem with my mom, my room was almost a dungeon with the speakers attached to the ceiling with chains, graffitis on the walls, crosses and a lot of symbols everywhere. My fav those days were Iron Maiden, Metallica, Megadeath, Anthrax, King Diamond, Accept, Judas Priest, Ozzy Osbourne and a lot more. But when the winds of change started to blow, was classic music the first breeze. I started to record Beethoven, Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Bach….. Now I listen everything, but the metal that flows in my veins will always make my heart pump like a Turbo Engine. Maybe that´s why I sometimes fell like a Turbo Lover ;) ….

Thats just our generation (i am the same age as you) if you weren’t into the “pop” stuff, this was our alternative – i can still listen to all these bands and be all nostalgic.

  9. Andres says:

for some reasoni got extremely happy when i found out you like the same music as i do :D

  10. Andres says:

this doesent have anything to do with the music here, but what cars do you like the most?
    Ford, Toyota, etc?

  11. Aurelien says:

    Hi again!

Hum, I hope I’m not writing here too much… I hope your beef couscous is great (I don’t have any doubt about this ^^). Yes, I follow your twitter here as I am not registered on Twitter itself :p.
I’m going to bed because here it’s late. Actually your article prodded me into listening songs I had not listened for years, such as Kurt Cobain’s My girl, a beautiful song I share there :

Hope you’ll enjoy it! Have a nice day!

  12. Mihyei says:

Also, you should check out Save Our Souls, for their album Hard to Be Human. They used to be Chiba Ken, so look into that, too.

  13. 1094513 says:

don’t hesitate about but to be honest at all I have to say that is true that you will never get rid in your mind of the type of music you chose when you were young, you can walk, rock or whatever to other rhythms but what as whjen having a wound, wounds heal but the scar that scars remains
don’t you think that is a weird thing to listen to music of the early ’90s, I myself listen and love and many people do music from the 60s or 70s, tomorrow I will try to purchase the whole discography of the beatles and if lucks on my side before the weekend I will have too the full discography of the rolling stones

  14. DEATHPOOL says:

yeah¡ it is fortunate to find a woman who likes to listen to these groups, but I like something a little heavier, something like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kOaqcfTZgno is a shame that many of the bands well and good start to soften over time, as Slipknot is music played well but came up with MTV and now to sing carols,
    :s

  15. Chad says:

You had me till Poppa Roach (not that bad.. but not top 10 list material)….. but then your redeemed yourself with an awesome Soundgarden pick.. and I loved all the 90′s rock .. great list sweetie!

  16. Nioufs says:

Accro a la Nintendo DS aussi à ce que je vois :)
Sinon pour tes goûts musicaux, comment dire… J’adore, çà me rappelle toute ma jeunesse!!
Il y a juste quelques artistes que je ne connaissais pas.

  17. Jerm says:

Wow! What a great selection of music Ariel! Thanks for giving me some good jams before I head out to work. <3

  18. Q says:

You’ve listed some really good songs. Im usually more of the metal/melodeath persuasion myself.

Since your into a Japanese pop phase, have you tried listenin to ‘Maximum the Hormone’? There a Japanese band that sound like a crazy mix of SOAD, Blink 182 and Japanese style pop music.

    Try http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0epwjWF3Wwo&feature=related
